Meet Milica A. Fatovich, Esq. 

Milica A. Fatovich is a founding partner of the bankruptcy law firm of Hook & Fatovich, LLC. She has more than 15 years of experience handling all types of consumer and business bankruptcies, including extensive creditor representation. Milica practiced bankruptcy law at both small and large law firms, representing debtors, mortgage and tax lien creditors, and bankruptcy trustees. Milica currently concentrates on consumer bankruptcies, corporate restructuring, bankruptcy litigation, and creditors’ rights. 

Throughout her career, Milica has been responsible for preparing and handling client strategy, negotiations, litigation, and representing clients in all aspects of Chapters 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy matters. She also has prior experience representing mortgage and tax lien creditors in foreclosure proceedings. Milica uses her past foreclosure and lender representation experience to assist debtors in understanding the foreclosure process and responding to issues relating to secured creditors in their bankruptcy proceedings. 

In 2010, she joined Yablonsky & Associates, LLC and upon partner Daniel J. Yablonsky’s appointment to the Superior Court of New Jersey in August of 2011, Milica became a founding member of Hook & Fatovich, LLC. In addition to her bankruptcy practice, Milica serves as the Assignee in several Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors cases in the New Jersey State Courts. 

Milica is admitted to practice in New Jersey, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Third Circuit. She is a member of the Passaic County Bar Association. Milica has several published bankruptcy cases, and she has been a guest lecturer at professional events, including bankruptcy seminars held by North Jersey Legal Services and a speaking event hosted at William Paterson University. A summa cum laude graduate of Saint Peter’s University (formerly Saint Peter's College), Milica received Bachelor of Science degrees in both Accounting and Economics. She subsequently earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Notre Dame Law School. At Notre Dame, Milica participated in the law school's Concan Program of International Law, spending her second year of law school studying in London and received the American Jurisprudence Award in Evidence. 

A first generation American, Milica takes great pride in giving back to the community and helping those less fortunate. Milica is a member of the Event Committee of Table To Table, a community-based food rescue program that serves the hungry in Bergen, Hudson, Essex, and Passaic counties. Milica accepts numerous pro bono bankruptcy case assignments each year through North Jersey Legal Services.
